Cost Reductions at SFP-ZAPA for 2023

We are pleased to announce significant reductions in collection costs for 2023 following the resolution of the SFP Repartition Council on March 8, 2023. These deductions have been lowered across all operational fields compared to the previous year.

As per the approved deductions for collection costs in 2023, the following rates apply:

  1. Cable, Satellite, Internet Re-emission:
    - Authors: 8.78%;
    - Producers: 7,94%;
  2. Television Broadcasting: 8.78%;
  3. Screening in Theatres: 7.50%;
  4. Providing VoD: 7.50%;
  5. Public Performance: 9.00%;
  6. Reproduction (DVD, Blu-ray): 9.00%;
  7. Charges for Pure Media: 6.00%;
  8. Foreign Use: 5.00%.

These reductions were made possible by a strategic approach, considering the anticipated rights revenues and the estimated costs of SFP-ZAPA's operations in 2023. Increasing royalty revenues year-on-year, combined with rational management of expenses for the costs of collective management of rights, allowed SFP-ZAPA to make reductions in deductions for collection costs for another consecutive year and all fields of exploitation.

The highest decrease in deductions for collection costs was adopted for Polish creators’ royalties from abroad (from rate 9.80% to 5.00%) and for blank media (from rate 9.80% to 6.00%). Significant reductions were also adopted for VoD sharing (from 9.80% to 7.50%) and cinema display (from rate 9% to 7.50%).

These rates represent the lowest deductions for operating expenses in SFP-ZAPA's history, making them among the most competitive of those applied by collecting societies, both in Poland and globally. We are committed to maintaining this efficiency, ensuring our contributors receive the maximum benefit from their creations.
